Travis Tausend Sea Bass Sauvignon Blanc Semillon 2019

Travis Tausend we first met when he was manning the helm of Høst Wine Imports, where he brought some of the most esoteric and intriguing wines into the country, capturing the imagination of drinkers nationwide.

His own wines that he makes from the Adelaide Hills are an extension of his own personailty, engaging, in touch with the earth and full of bright intensity.

I asked Travis to match an album with each of these new releases to which he kindly obliged, with a succinct explanation, followed by his notes on the wines.

Sea Bass: At the Drive in “Relationship of Command” - Why: old mate drives a hard bargain… no bullshit.

We are starting to become familiar and I would almost say friends with this vineyard. The nuance of character across the vineyard has been a challenge to get to grips with. We feel like piking a little earlier and fermenting in tank is the way forward to promote the vineyard’s wonderful acid drive. The wine is direct pressed to tank, fermented and left on lees for 1 year before bottle.

Alc: 13.1%
