Travis Tausend Djuna Pinot Noir 2019
Travis Tausend we first met when he was manning the helm of Høst Wine Imports, where he brought some of the most esoteric and intriguing wines into the country, capturing the imagination of drinkers nationwide.
His own wines that he makes from the Adelaide Hills are an extension of his own personailty, engaging, in touch with the earth and full of bright intensity.
This is the more serious of the two Pinot Noirs. Formally ‘Nanna and Pa’ this wine is picked a little later than the above and a larger portion of whole bunches are used. We still hand destem a portion of fruit over the tip and the wine is fermented on those skins and stems until almost dry. We then transfer the wine into 220L barrels for 12 months and then bottled to rest for a further 12 months.
