Sato Pinot Gris 2013
Yoshi & Kyoko Sato produce small amounts of ethereal, charcter-driven and refined wines out of Central Otago. They use only organically farmed fruit, with no adds bar minimal sulfur, and without fining or filtration.
We aren't in Kansas anymore Dorothy, this is a light skin-contact, slightly oxidatively handled and mineral rich white, that darts to the left of it's regional counterparts. There is a Jura-like saline quality to it, as well as whispered aromatics and a rich, but measured dose of flavour. One for contemplation.
