A 7th generation winemaker with a deep knowledge of wine theory from time learning his craft in Beaune to working under his grandfather in the Rhone. Matthieu makes complex, velvet-like wines that contrast his slightly comical labels just perfectly.
The Disco Teddy Bear red that he is very famous for is a delightful crowd pleaser. Dark fruits and soft, plush tannins. If a wine could be like an actual person, this would be Drew from Totally Unicorn. Sure syrah can be big and scary when it wants to be, but sometimes it's just a lovely thing that you wanna hug.
