Jerome Lambert Le Zu DeFruit Grolleau 2015
We discovered Jerome Lambert thanks to Melbourne importer Campbell Burton, who's vast knowledge and enthusiasm, as well as a cellaring patience second to none, have shown this winemaker's wines for what they are: Truly spectacular.
Grolleau translates roughly to "Crow" because of the dark colour and is an interesting grape, known for low alcohol and high acid. But this wine is extremely complex, like unpicking all the delicate, dark, brooding layers of Disintegration, licks of echoing flavour encapsulated in crunchy rhythm and pop sensibility. Serve 16-18 degrees.
