Frederick Stevenson Sangiovese 2019

Frederick Stevenson is one of the projects by overly-talented winemaker Steve Crawford. You may have seen him don the hat of Giovanni in the Giovanni Armani Giorgio wines and here he takes a slightly more serious tone, creating flawless, energetic wines from South Australia.

This is a medium bodied expression, bright red fruit and crunchy tannin. Did you ever listen to Mike Patton's Mondo Cane album? He put together a 40-piece orchestra and did covers of 1950's and 60's Italian pop songs. It was brilliant, so much fun to listen to and just the right amount of authenticity to keep you coming back for more. Do yourself a favour, pop this, put that record on, prepare a salumi plate and dance around the kitchen. Ciao baby.
