Frederick Stevenson Dry Red Cinsault, Syrah 2019

Frederick Stevenson is one of the projects by overly-talented winemaker Steve Crawford. You may have seen him don the hat of Giovanni in the Giovanni Armani Giorgio wines but here he takes a slightly more serious tone, creating flawless, energetic wines from South Australia.

The Dry Red is much more fun than the name suggests, a medium bodied crusher with all the hallmark classic red fruit flavours with a great fresh acid and quenching dry tannins that are as refreshing as sipping chilled rooibos tea on the porch. If the Giovanni wine are italo disco, then this is Jacques Brel, very cool, plenty of punch and effortless delivery.
