Dirty Black Denim Grenache 2021
Notes from Paul Hervy: Quite a few young winemakers are taking fruit from the wonderful Humis Vineyard in Colbinabbin. This is young vine Grenache, early picked. It was split into two separate ferments, the first was whole bunch and worked sparingly, the second fully destemmed and plunged daily. Macerated for three weeks, then pressed to barrique. Small addition of SO₂ after MLF, then no more. It is a snappy young Grenache, a bit of a tease. Plenty of charming strawberry and white cherry, apricot delight and ghost drop. A great pourer.
