Della Staffa - "Mosso" ROSATO 2020

Dusty pink, lightly fizzed, lightly macerated Sangiovese and Gamay del Trasimeno. A tart, red currant, sparkling rosato delight. Natural wine by tradition rather than trend from a family of farmers and winemakers dating back more than 200 years.

"These Umbrian wines have a rich pedigree dating back to a unification of two noble families in the 1700s. The estate ceased production in the 1950s, selling their grapes over the subsequent decades. Natural Winemaker Danilo Marcucci, who married Alessandra Conestabile della Staffa revived the 12 hectares of vines and was able to release the estate’s first vintage in 60 years in 2015. Indigenous grapes, spontaneous fermentation, with wild yeast, no temperature control and no added sulphur. Ageing occurs in either cement, stainless or fibreglass, or vintage barrels (some over 100 years old), with pure juice with no filtration or fining." - Notes from importer Matt Fox
