Claus Preisinger Zweigelt 2020

It is always an exciting time of the year when Claus' wines come rolling in. He is the kickstart to the heart for a new and exciting scene among winemakers in Austria, focusing on native varietals, and minimal intervention winemaking. Nab while you can.

The slightly more refined and stoic brother to the Libre - palate staining dark purple fruits, juicy, with soft yet crisp tannins. Beauty.

Claus Preisinger’s Zweigelt is grown on pebbly, gravelly (Kiesel) soils in Burgenland. The rocky soils and the temperate microclimate around Lake Neusiedlersee form the perfect conditions for Zweigelt. The grapes are fermented semi-carbonically in large used oak barrels where it ages for 10 months. - LoFi, importers.
