Claus Preisinger Puszta Libre 2021

It is always an exciting time of the year when Claus' wines come rolling in. He is the kickstart to the heart for a new and exciting scene among winemakers in Austria, focusing on native varietals, and minimal intervention winemaking. Nab while you can.

It looks like Mexican Coca-Cola, and is just as crushable and delicious. Drink it chilled, drink with pizza, drink it all.

‘Puszta’ is the Hungarian name for the Pannonian Steppe, a vast plain that covers an area of 50,000km in Hungary and stretches all the way to Neusiedlersee. This wine is a blend of 80% Zweigelt and 20% St. Laurent. The fruit is destemmed, a portion of the grapes is carbonically fermented, while the rest are pressed directly. The wine is spontaneously fermented and aged in 3000 litre foudres, and bottled without filtration. - LoFi, importers.
